REVIEWS Are the mixes good? Lets ask Chuck aka Brainac. He was kind enough to review them for us. Two of our finest local djs: Variant on Mix 1 & Antimatter on Mix 2

LIQUID FOX The Mix pt 1 "ORIGINS" mixed by VARIANT Athens very own, Variant, takes you on a 33 minute journey through liquid, dubby rollers, and finishing off with some A-men infused liquid. The mix is flawless. Variant doesn't sit on any tune for too long and keeps the mix moving elegantly. In the beginning we are treated to vibrant, breezy liquid from the likes of Funnetik, Lettuce, Kubatko, and The Square. This portion of the mix climaxes with Lettuces' remix of Kubatko's "I Feel Love" and a quick play of "She is a Lady" by Dirrrty B. After that, Variant goes into dub mode with his own "Wayside." Variant is known for playing deep rolling reggae tracks in his sets, so he is right at home with tunes like this, "Dub Symphony" and his remix of Night Ship's jump-up styled "Punch Drunk Dub." He returns to liquid with Trench's enchanting "Fade Out." Although this time the beats are a bit harder. In the final third of the mix, Surora contributes two A-men infused offerings and the second to last track in the mix is Jason K's awesome "An Autumn Offering." Variant concludes by mixing this mean sounding track into, Surora's celestial "Light Being," With this mix, Variant has taken a diverse collection of tunes and mixed them into an intelligent yet, energetic set.

LIQUID FOX The Mix pt 2 "TRANSITIONS" Mixed by ANTIMATTER For the second Liquid Fox mix we have Atlanta DJ Antimatter at the controls. Antimatter's selection is more of a full on liquid set with some neuro influences toward the end. This set has less tracks than "Origins" and runs about 10 minutes longer, so it can be easy to look at that info and say that "Transitions" may not be as fast paced or energetic. However that is not the case here. Transitions starts off on a steppy tip with a Kubato's "I Feel Love" (Lettuce remix) and the cruises through a couple of tunes by Zero. "Candle Light" and "Lessons In Love" work well in a club and home. The mix hits a deepspot with "Falling" and back to heavier dancing style with the latin smasher "Revolta" By BTK. "Revolta" has really tough drums and its hard not to be still when this tune is playing. Antimatter continues the assault with Trench's "Running Away" and then comes back to the sweet sounds in "Her Smile", another collab by The Square and Dirrrty B. If you've heard Antimatter's sets, you know that he can balance the rough and the sweet sounds and continues the rollercoaster with the neuro-ish "Don't Be afraid" and then cools it off again with the original mix of Lettuce's "Alone." Next up is Surora's mighty "Light Being." This record is so good, you're glad it appears on both mixes! Finally, Antimatter raps things up with the epic sounding "Bowl Scraper" by Kaotic Grace and 2sense. All in all, Antimatter has taken the listener on journey through the more musical liquid vs some quality tunes with grimey bits. Its a great Journey
